- ‘Me and The Universe’ -

2019

“Who am I” is a philosophical question which inspired me to start to explore the main theme of this project “Know myself”. I have been trying to get to know myself better and deeper through creating artwork in different art forms. We know ourselves but we do not know. We should look at it as dialectical. I believe that I live every day to know myself better. There are three main elements in the project which are the universe, the clothes, and the moments. The aim of this project is to express myself and know myself better while infecting other people to think of themselves simultaneously to some extent. I focused on exploring the theme by making sculptural installations and taking photos. The transparent clothes and the planet-like sculptures were made of reflective paper. This kind of paper is the main material I used in this project. I found this material quite unique, it gave me a feeling of the universe. The reflections of the lights are diverse that they represent distinct parts of me. The photos are visualised poems I write. They are records of my thoughts. The unity of the use of the material is the most conspicuous for the viewers to notice I believe. The photographs on the walls are the internal look in my mind. The clothes are the external symbol of myself. The sculptures are my thoughts and imagination of my own existence. I am infinite as I am existing in the whole universe.
